BAQAI MEDICAL UNIVERSITY (BMU)

Was established under an Ordinance of Government of Sindh on October 10, 1993 and later through an Act passed unanimously by the provincial assembly on the 8th April 1996. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has recognized Baqai Medical University as an independent Degree Awarding University.

 Baqai Medical University has contributed for improving health status of the community and strengthening the health systems of Pakistan, which has been commissioned through the Faculty of Health and Management Sciences.
This is a unique and the first and foremost faculty in Pakistan, which has taken up the mandate of training and the leaders in Health Management as well as in Public Health.

BAQAI INSTITUTE OF HEALTH MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

BMU added a new leaf in the university in the year 2000 to celebrate a new millennium under the name of Baqai Institute of Health Management Sciences. BIHMS took a very innovative Step to launch BBA (Hons) and MBA in Health Management to open the avenue to those who are specialized in the field oh health like Doctor, nurses, paramedics, technicians etc in hospitals for Pharma industry as well as other industries like food industry.

PLACEMENT SERVICES

Placement Services at the BIHMS lends support to both prospective employees and employers. It also provides advice and assistance to the BIHMS’s existing students in terms of their placement in internship programs and jobs in various organization.

Farther more, it helps the BIHMS alumni in their job search. Apart from offering assistance in placing the students in various internship programs and jobs, the networking of placement services ensures that the transition from classroom to career is smooth and successful through:

Students at the undergraduate and graduate level take part in workshops on a number of career related topics.

 

CAREER COUNSELING

BIHMS provide feedback to students after they have completed their internships on the basis of appraisal and evaluation provided by their employers. This helps the students to learn about their strengths and areas of improvement.

·         Duration 2 months.
