INTRODUCTION

Baqai institute of Hematology is a constituent institute of Baqai Medical University established in 1993, under the pioneer ship of Prof. Dr. Moinuddin. This institute is a center of excellence for Hematology & Transfusion Medicine with highly qualified faculty and well-trained laboratory and office staff. Various postgraduate degree and diploma programs; namely M.Sc., M.Phil & Ph. D Hematology & M.S. Transfusion Medicine, were initiated in this institute which remained first & one of its kind in the entire country for many years. Since its birth this institute has produced many well-qualified & skilled personnel who are serving in well-recognized institutes & laboratories. BIH Alumni include 129 M.Sc, 24 M.Phil., 5 Ph.D of Hematology and 2 M.S. in Transfusion Medicine graduates who are serving in prestigious organizations both nationally & internationally. Currently, students are enrolled in different postgraduate programs. More than 50 research publications on diverse variety of topics were published by the faculty and postgraduates of BIH in ISI indexed journals. Hematology is vast field which not only encompass physiological & pathological & molecular level aspects of each blood component and theoretical / technical aspect of list of laboratory investigations but also deal with ever challenging angles of blood banking & transfusion medicine having good professional scope. So it is a good field to choose as profession. Some upcoming projects including B.S. in Laboratory Hematology & Transfusion Medicine and Certificate courses in Laboratory Hematology & Blood Banking are in line for approval from the academic council of Baqai Medical University. Our institute offer different under-graduate & post-graduate courses in hematology through well-qualified faculty in conducive environment. Welcome to the Baqai Institute of Hematology (B.I.H). My Dua may ALLAH keep you amidst best of everything in this world & world hereafter.
This institute was established in 1993 by the pioneering efforts of well renowned double FRCP hematologist Late Prof. Dr. Moinuddin. His dream was to teach hematology in a simple way to all disciplines related to medical science and produce good quality technical force even in small cities of this country. After him Late Prof. Dr. Muhammad Usman continued the good work. I am the current torch-bearer of this great task. My belief is that “will & desires with hard work under correct guidance can make many impossible things possible”. I owe you all to do best with correct intentions & ask others to do same in all fields of life albeit in the field of education & technical skill as this is a big contributor in uprising of nations.
