Introduction

Baqai Medical University has contributed for improving health status of the community and strengthening the health systems of Pakistan, which has been commissioned through the Faculty of Health and Management Sciences. This is a unique and the first and foremost faculty in Pakistan, which has taken up the mandate of training and the leaders in public health as well as in health management.

The institute has two campuses: the Main Campus on the main entrance if Karachi city near Toll Plaza and the City Campus at North Nazimabad for Executive Courses only.

The new curriculum contains a number of other new innovative features which makes our MBA and BBA Programs for full time students much superior to that being offered by other institutions in Pakistan.

The curriculum is focused not only on improving the knowledge base of the students but also on: one, developing their personality, and two, generating the entrepreneurial spirit among the students. The key difference between an entrepreneur and a manager is the ability of the former to take the risk (investing his/her time, effort, and money) not only to conceive an idea but also to convert the idea into a commercial venture with the objective of earning economic profits from it. It is the ability of the former to convert a business idea into a commercial venture that is at the heart of entrepreneurship. It is a spirit that can only be acquired by ‘doing the thing’. An innovative idea which is of the central focus of the new program for our full time students is the introduction of an Entrepreneurship Project as a part of the BBA and MBA Curriculum. The objective of the entrepreneurial project is to give the student an experience that can act as stepping-stone to encourage graduates to venture into self managed small business enterprises.

Placement Services:

Placement Services at the BIHMS lends support to both prospective employees and employers. It also providers advice and assistance to the BIHMS’s existing students in terms of their placement in internship programs and jobs in various organization.

Farther more, it helps the BIHMS alumni in their job search. Apart from offering assistance in placing the students in various internship programs and jobs, the networking of placement services ensures that the transition from classroom to career is smooth and successful through:

Workshops - Students at the undergraduate and graduate level take part in workshops on a number of career related topics. 

Career Counseling – BIHMS provide feedback to students after they have completed their internships on the basis of appraisal and evaluation provided by their employers. This helps the students to learn about their strengths and areas of improvement.

Baqai Institute of Health Management Sciences [BIHMS].

BBA (Hon's) Major in Health Management

This is a 3-year program. The eligibility for this course is:
Higher Secondary certificate (HSC) / Intermediate with a minimum of 50% marks.

Admissions to the Baqai Medical University are purely done on merit basis. There is no quota system or seats against any donations. Candidates from anywhere in Pakistan and abroad are eligible to apply if they fulfill the basic requirements of Admissions as per University rules.
